San Diego's Kids Free museum program expands to Tijuana

Families can use bilingual coupons at eight Tijuana museums as the October admission program becomes binational for the first time.

Published October 5, 2026 • Program announced October 1

The San Diego Museum Council's annual Kids Free in October program has expanded across the border for the first time, adding eight museums and cultural destinations in Tijuana. The list includes the Tijuana Cultural Center, its aquarium, Domo IMAX and Museo de las Californias, along with the city's historical archive, municipal arts institute and history museum.

The same program includes more than 70 museums, historic sites, aquariums, gardens and cultural attractions across San Diego County and Tijuana. Children age 12 and younger generally receive free admission with a paid adult, but individual age limits, schedules, reservations and other restrictions can vary by location.

Coupons run through October 31

Families must download a location-specific coupon from the Museum Council before visiting. The Tijuana coupons are available in English and Spanish, and the offers are valid through October 31. The council advises visitors to review each institution's coupon because some offers apply only on selected days or require advance reservations.
