Published October 8, 2026

Orange County's Clerk-Recorder Department and the California Secretary of State will hold a one-day Apostille Pop-Up Shop in Santa Ana, the county announced October 7. The service is intended to save residents a trip to Los Angeles or the need to mail documents to Sacramento.

Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2026

Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: County Administration South, 601 N. Ross St., Santa Ana

Apostille fees: $20 per document plus $6 for each public official's signature authenticated

What the service does

An apostille authenticates the signature of a California public official on a document intended for use outside the United States. Common examples include birth and marriage certificates, educational records and notarized documents. The Secretary of State will also provide in-person domestic-partnership registration at the pop-up.

What visitors should bring

The county says visitors need an original notarized or certified document, or a document signed by a California public official, along with the completed pop-up request cover sheet. Photocopies are not accepted. Apostille payments may be made by Visa, Mastercard, check or money order; cash is not accepted.

On-site notary service will be available through the Orange County Clerk of the Board for $15 per signature, payable by cash or personal check.
