Metro D Line extension expands subway access in Los Angeles

The opening extends rail service toward more Westside destinations.

Metro described the D Line extension as one of its major transit priorities. Its first section opened in 2026, with later sections planned for 2027. The project changes the options available for some trips that previously required a bus or drive.
