L.A. County starts mailing vote-by-mail ballots for November election
Ballots are going to every registered voter for the November 3 general election, with more than 400 official drop boxes available countywide.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk began mailing vote-by-mail ballots October 1 to all registered voters for the November 3 general election. Registrar Dean C. Logan encouraged voters to review the long ballot and return it early so more ballots can be processed in time for the first Election Night results.
What it means locally
Voters can return completed ballots at more than 400 official drop boxes, mail them without postage or take them to a Vote Center beginning October 24. The county recommends mailing ballots at least seven days before Election Day and reminds voters to sign and date the return envelope. Eligible residents who are not registered must register by October 19 to receive a ballot by mail. The county also offers the free Where’s My Ballot? notification service and election materials in English and 18 additional languages.
