Published October 5, 2026

Hollywood Burbank Airport marked completion of its new $1.3 billion passenger terminal with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 5, CBS Los Angeles reported. The 355,000-square-foot facility replaces the airport’s 1930s-era, 232,000-square-foot terminal while retaining the same 14-gate limit.

Passenger opening: October 13, 2026

New entrance: Winona Avenue and Hollywood Way

Terminal size: 355,000 square feet, 14 gates

What travelers should know

The replacement terminal is on the opposite side of the airfield from the existing building. It adds expanded TSA screening space, more charging ports and kiosks, and a single indoor baggage-claim hall with three carousels. Passengers will continue boarding and leaving aircraft outdoors, preserving a familiar feature of the airport’s experience.

Officials said the terminal meets current seismic and accessibility standards and uses an all-electric design. The airport’s official parking information confirms that its parking structure and valet operations will move to the new terminal October 13, while Lot E will close permanently that day.
